National News:

With 22 more novel coronavirus cases confirmed in the country on Wednesday, taking the total number of infections to 28 so far, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said the government was proactively engaged in dealing with coronavirus (COVID-19) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was monitoring the situation daily. Giving a breakdown of the number of cases, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said, "A total of 28 coronavirus cases have been detected in India so far.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday said the government would move a resolution during the upcoming Assembly session urging the Centre to revert to the conditions prevailing in 2010 in the National Population Register (NPR) .

The Centre proposes to amend the Companies Act again, in a bid to decriminalise a number of offences and ease corporate social responsibility (CSR) requirements, especially for smaller companies. The amendment bill will also enable the listing of Indian companies on stock exchanges in foreign jurisdictions. This is expected to give Indian firms greater access to capital, a broader investor base and better valuations.

International News:

Legislation to control the spread of coronavirus and develop vaccines for the highly-contagious disease is set to move through the U.S. House of Representatives after congressional negotiators on Wednesday struck a deal on its provisions. The Bill would devote $8.3 billion for government-sponsored initiatives, including expanding testing for the virus, which has infected at least 129 people in the United States. Two more deaths were reported on Wednesday, increasing the toll to 11.
