National News:

An urgent meeting was called by Chief Justice of India Sharad A. Bobde on March 15 to clarify that there cannot be a complete shutdown of courts in the wake of COVID-19. The CJI explained that as virtual courts are on the verge of commencement there can only be a possibility of limited shutdown at the present instance. The court is reopening on March 16 after the Holi break.

AP News:

The decision of the State Election Commission to postpone the local body elections raised a political stink in Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy lodged a complaint with Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan against State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar on Sunday and later at a press conference alleged that he had taken such a decision to help the Opposition, particularly the TDP, since he belongs to the same community as that of former CM Chandrababu Naidu. He also alleged that Ramesh was appointed during the TDP regime and was chosen by Naidu.

State Bank of India (SBI) - the country's largest lender, along with seven other financial institutions have put in ₹10,000 crore investment in troubled Yes Bank in bid to revive the troubled private sector bank.

A spike in deaths from the coronavirus in Spain has pushed the global toll past 6,000, according to an AFP tally compiled from official sources.
The worldwide death toll rose to 6,036, with 159,844 infections after 105 died in Spain.
