Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were voted back to power with a massive mandate in the Delhi Assembly election as the party won 62 seats in the 70-member House. The party dropped just five seats and less than a percentage point in vote share from its stellar 2015 showing.

Replying to a question asked by TDP MP Kesineni Srinivas in Lok Sabha, Ministry for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai cleared that Capital city of a State is decided by the respective State Government. Central Government has no role in it.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 11 said the economy is not in trouble and green shoot are visible with the country moving towards a $5 trillion economy. Listing initiatives taken by the government, she said, increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), rise in factory output and over ₹1 lakh crore GST collection in the past three months are indications of green shoots in the economy.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he is looking forward to his visit to India later this month where millions of people would welcome him. "I look forward to going to India," Mr. Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, a day after the White House announced that he will be travelling to Ahmedabad in Gujarat and New Delhi on February 24 and 25.
